Global Liberal Arts Program(GLAP)은 영어 혹은 다른 외국어로 진행되는 강의를 통하여 학생들이 다양한 국제적인 분위기를 익히고, 국제적인 의사소통 능력을 배양하며, 글로벌 리더가 되기 위한 자질을 고양할 수 있도록 하기 위한 혁신적이고 야심찬 프로젝트이다. GLAP에는 몇가지 구체적인 목표가 있다.

첫째, GLAP는 국제적인 이슈들을 이해하고 영어로 토론할 수 있기를 희망하는 동서대학교 학생들과 교환학생들에게 교양 과정과 한국 문화 과정을 제공한다. GLAP과정에서 학생들은 국제 정치와 국제 사회에 대하여 다양한 시각을 가진 영어 원어민 교수와 다른 외국어를 구사하는 교수들에게 수업을 받는다. 교수들은 학생들이 중요한 텍스트를 읽고, 강의를 듣고, 영어 또는 다른 외국어로 자신의 생각과 의문점들을 토론할 수 있도록 돕는다.

둘째, GLAP의 교양과 한국 문화 과정은 학생들이 앞으로 자신의 꿈을 펼쳐나갈 세계 무대에 대한 이해를 향상시킬 수 있도록 한다. 마지막으로, 이미 영어 또는 다른 외국어를 구사할 수 있는 교환학생들에게도 GLAP는 큰 도움이 된다. GLAP의 수업을 통해 교환학생들은 국제적인 이슈에 대한 한국의 시각을 더 잘 이해할 수 있을 뿐 아니라, 한국의 경제, 정치 그리고 사회에 대해 배우게 된다.

The Global Liberal Arts Program(GLAP) is a Pioneering and ambitious project that exposes students to global diversity, fosters global communication, and encourages global leadership through courses taught in English and other foreign languages. The GLAP has several specific goals.

First, it will provide liberal arts and Korean culture course for Dongseo University students and exchange students who wish to improve their ability to understand and discuss global issues in English and other foreign languages. These GLAP coures will expose students to English-speaking professors, and to faculty skilled in other foreign languages, who have diversified views on global politics and societies. These professors will assist students in reading important texts, listening to lectures, and discussing thoughts and questions in English and other foreign languages.

Second, the program's liberal arts and Korean culture courses will help students improve their understanding of the global scene where they will practice their professions. Finally, exchange students, who already are skilled in English or the other foreign languages, will find the courses attractive. Through GLAP classes, these students will learn about the Korean business, political and social cultures, as well as gain a better understanding of the Korean perspective on global issues.
